    Follow these steps to prevent a program from loading or starting automatically when the computer is started.

    IMPORTANT: Disabling a startup item may change the way an application functions or disable automated processes.

    1. Click theStartbutton, then in theSearch programs and filesbox, type:msconfig.
       
    2. In theSystem Configurationwindow, click theStartuptab.

    3. On theStartuptab, click to clear the box next to the desired item to prevent it from loading at startup and click theOKbutton.
